Training in Livestock Production/Husbandry

Livestock rearing provides a livelihood to the majority of people in rural communities. It contributes to food security by providing milk, meat and eggs as well as increased crop output through providing manure. Our livestock training is designed to establish a basis for making proper and informed management decisions for the growth and development of any livestock operations.

There is a growing concern in Tobago to raise the level and status of its Agricultural Sector. Our organization’s  objective is to tackle:

Module 3:
Training would be centered around the factors affecting animal production:

Classes of livestock include:

  • – Small ruminant production (including dairy goats).
  • – Rabbit production.
  • – Poultry production (broilers, layers and ducks).
  • – Cattle production (beef and dairy)

Module 4:
  • – Record Keeping
  • – Planning your livestock business

Training would be divided into classroom sessions and practicals. 
Evaluations would be conducted via examinations in giving real life situations and participants solving problems.
